This recipe was made for my 2007 Holiday Party featuring an Italian inspired menu. You can read about it and view the additional recipes I made for this event HERE.
Caprese salad
1 log of mozzarella
3-4 plum tomatoes
1-2 bunches fresh basil
1-2 bunches fresh basil
1/2 large red onion, minced
red wine & sherry vinaigrette dressing (see below)
Slice mozzarella about 1/4″ thick.
Slice tomatoes about 1/4″ thick.
Layer & overlap cheese, basil and tomato on a serving tray.

Sprinkle minced red onion over the top.
Pour dressing over everything.
