Latik Recipe

Delicious and aromatic Latik made with coconut milk.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 3-4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale

2 cups coconut milk
1 cup brown sugar

Instructions

In a non-stick pan, heat the coconut milk over low-medium heat.
Stir the mixture slowly to avoid sticking until the milk has been reduced by half.
Add the brown sugar and stir until combined and dissolved.
Cook until the mixture thickens, stirring often to avoid burning.
The mixture should be thickened enough that it forms a stiff dough when cooled.
Once cooked, spread out the dough on parchment paper and break into small pieces.
Allow the latik to cool completely before serving.

Notes

You can use white sugar in place of the brown sugar.
You can use either regular cow’s milk or canned coconut milk for this recipe.
