Keto Fish Batter Recipe

A delicious fish batter for a variety of fish, keto-friendly dish.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Units Scale

1 cup almond flour
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 cup water
2 large eggs, beaten
1/4 cup melted butter

In a medium bowl, combine almond flour, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme, and baking powder.
Slowly pour in the water and eggs, whisking constantly.
Whisk in the melted butter until smooth.
Heat some oil in a large skillet or deep fryer over medium-high heat.
Dip fish fillets into the batter, being sure to coat evenly.
Carefully place the battered fish in the hot oil and cook until golden and crisp, about 3 to 4 minutes.
Remove the cooked fish from the oil and transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
Serve warm with your favorite side dish and top with some freshly chopped herbs, if desired.

You can substitute almond flour for any other nut flour such as hazelnut flour or cashew flour for a different flavor.
If you don’t have any baking powder on hand, you can also use baking soda.
