Big Green Egg Salmon

A succulent and smoky salmon dish cooked to perfection on the Big Green Egg, infused with the flavors of cedar plank and simple yet delicious seasonings.

1 cedar plank (pre-soaked for 2 hours)
2 salmon fillets (6 ounces each)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 lemon, sliced into rounds
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried dill
Salt and pepper to taste


Preheat the Big Green Egg to a temperature of 350°F (177°C) with the lid closed.
Place the pre-soaked cedar plank on the grill to heat for about 3 minutes. Flip over the plank using tongs.
Brush the salmon fillets with olive oil on both sides.
Season the salmon fillets evenly with garlic powder, onion powder, dried dill, salt, and pepper.
Lay the seasoned salmon fillets onto the heated side of the cedar plank.
Top each salmon fillet with two rounds of lemon slices.
Close the lid of the Big Green Egg and let the salmon cook for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets, or until the salmon easily flakes with a fork.
Carefully remove the cedar plank with the cooked salmon from the grill avoiding any flare-ups from the wood.
Allow the salmon to rest on the plank for 5 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.


Ensure the cedar plank is fully soaked to prevent burning on the grill.
The internal temperature of the salmon should reach 145°F (63°C) when done.
