Brunch & Beignets

Today I met with my friend Elly for brunch at Grand Lux Cafe. A trip here isn’t complete without their made to order dessert, Beignets.
A beignet refers to a French doughnut made from deep fried dough and sprinkled with confectioner’s sugar. Beignets are often found in, and typically associated with, the city of New Orleans, Louisiana. They are most often enjoyed with cafe au lait.
Our beignets were made to order and was serve with three sauces – berry, chocolate and vanilla cream. Delicious way to enjoy a beautiful Chicago Sunday in spring!
