Papaya Salad

1 tablespoon chili garlic paste
2 tablespoons fish sauce
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon shrimp paste or 1/2 shrimp bouillon cube
2 cups shredded green papaya
2 tablespoons roasted peanuts
2 tablespoons fried garlic
1 medium tomato, chopped & seeded
1/2 red onion, sliced
1/4 cup chopped cilantro leaves
1/4 cup chopped holy basil (Thai basil)
2 tablespoons fish sauce
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon shrimp paste or 1/2 shrimp bouillon cube
2 cups shredded green papaya
2 tablespoons roasted peanuts
2 tablespoons fried garlic
1 medium tomato, chopped & seeded
1/2 red onion, sliced
1/4 cup chopped cilantro leaves
1/4 cup chopped holy basil (Thai basil)
Combine first 4 ingredients in a small bowl and mix to dissolve for vinaigrette.
Combine all other ingredients in a large bowl and toss with vinaigrette.
Looks wonderful! But there's no mention of the noodles shown in the picture. What kind are they and how are they prepared? Thanks!
Hi Anonymous – there are no noodles in the recipe… although you can toss the salad with rice noodles or steamed rice if you'd like. If you want to eat the salad with rice noodles, prepare rice noodles as directed on the package, such as those used for pad thai (pad thai rice noodles). For rice, prepare the rice as directed on the package.
